Becoming

I am Chin Chen Esther, a Spiritual Director trained with Spiritual Growth Ministries, New Zealand (2021) and a member of the Christ-Centered Spiritual Directors Association (CSDA).

Since 2010, I have been receiving regular spiritual direction, which has profoundly shaped my own relationship with God. I am grateful for the spiritual directors who have helped me attend to my interior life and respond to God’s invitations. This journey has deepened my desire to encourage others to know God beyond intellectual awareness and to recognise His presence in their everyday experiences.

I have also trained in Dreamwork, Interactive Drawing Therapy, Mindfulness practices, and the Enneagram, which complement my work in spiritual direction.

As a NIE-trained teacher, I have spent 25 years teaching young children with special needs. I hold a Master of Education (Developmental Psychology) from Nanyang Technological University and a Master of Arts in Theology and Integrative Studies from Biblical Graduate School of Theology.

When I’m not journeying alongside others in their spiritual lives, I enjoy painting, gardening, taking walks with friends, and cycling.
